Leicester MusicFest 2018’s grand opening will be a brand new production of this favourite Baroque opera, featuring a community chorus supported first-class professional principals, including winner of the Kathleen Ferrier Award 2016, James Newby, as Aeneas, and Stephanie Wake-Edwards, who will be appearing in Der Rosenkavalier at the Glyndebourne Festival 2018, as Dido.
The performance will be introduced by Professor Nigel Simeone (of BBC Radio 4’s Tales From The Stave), and the evening will close with a celebratory drinks reception.
